Mathilde Koechlin is a London-based multi instrumentalist, composer and music editor working across film, television, animation, video games and commercials. With a distinctive sound, combining many different music genres from classical to folk, funk to hybrid, she brings a fresh approach to scoring.
Her recent projects include the short fiction Skate, or Sagebrush Gold, winner of the RTS award for best Postgraduate Environment and Sunstainability Documentary 2023 and the Newcomer Prize at the NaturVision Film Festival 2022. It was nominated for a BAFTA Student Awards 2022 and finalist at the Vaasa Wildlife Festival 2022. Some other works include Dead Dog In A Suitcase, selected at the GELOS Comedy Film Festival, the RETROSPECTIVE OF JUPITER and the Moscow Shorts International Festival (official selection of 2021), and VIRILE, a short fiction thriller selected at the HollyShorts 2023.
Since 2022 she has also been working as a music editor and assistant for composers Jack Halama on Who Is Erin Carter, Adiescar Chase on Waterloo Road and Heartstopper Season 2 and 3, Jon Opstad on Bodies and The Veil and Arthur Sharpe on the short series Prime Target.
Mathilde moved to London in 2016 to attend a BA (Hons) in piano performance and music producing at LCCM - The London College of Creative Media. There, she polished her knowledge of jazz, pop and world music, graduating with excellent marks. In 2019 she got offered a place at the NFTS - the world-renowned National Film & Television School, where she scored many documentary, fiction and animation films, as well as TV Shows and video games. She completed a MA in Composition for Film and Television, graduating in early 2022 and is now a frequent guest tutor at the NFTS.
